It has been said that the most important part about learning about the Holocaust is linking its study to the world today. Within our lifetimes, scholars have found that genocide and mass atrocities often have common warning signs. If our students are able to understand these factors, they will be more likely to prevent mass murder from happening in the future. The following situations allow your class to begin this process. After, get your students involved with outreach projects designed to assist the humanitarian crises that are described. Please know that due to the changing nature of current events, some of the material may now seem dated--but will still be quite helpful for classroom purposes.
